To forgive someone who has hurt us feels like doing THEM a favor! They owe us! Why should we do THEM a favor by forgiving them? There is a very important reason why.

Jesus taught an essential lesson about love: that our love of God is incomplete without the love of our neighbors. Our neighbors are every single human being and as such, they are worthy of our love. When we forget this, we risk losing our own humanity and dehumanizing.

Just like Jesus, one of the greatest temptations we all face is to meet a legitimate need in an illegitimate way. But what's the big deal when it's such a small thing?

Culture constantly tells us to "live our truth" and "follow our heart." And yet, how many times have we lived our truth and followed our heart only to have it end in regret? To where we look back and ask ourselves, "What was I thinking?!" Maybe culture has gotten it wrong. Is there a better option?

Even when our words are accidental, they can still hurt someone. There is a right way and a wrong way to handle it if they do.
